About Ultrasun
Ultrasun is the specialist in sun protection for sensitive skin. We offer reliable sun protection that combines science, maximum dermatological compatibility and sustainability made in Switzerland.
Developed by experts, our sun protection products not only protect against the rays of the full sun spectrum (UVB, UVA, infrared and blue light), but are also particularly well tolerated and sustainable.
For more than 30 years, Ultrasun sun screen products have been developed and manufactured in Switzerland and optimised according to the latest cosmetic and dermatological knowledge.
Our history
In 1992, a Swiss chemist developed the first Ultrasun sun cream. Over 30 years ago, the scientist was looking for a sunscreen that was both particularly gentle on sensitive skin and reliably protected the skin from the sun's rays. As his brother had very sensitive skin and got skin cancer, it was important to him to develop a sunscreen that was free from harmful and critical ingredients but at the same time offered reliable sun protection.
This awareness lives on today in Ultrasun products. Our products meet the highest quality standards, the filter technologies used correspond to the latest scientific knowledge and all our products are of course dermatologically tested.
Each product is the result of extensive research and a passion for harmonizing protection and care. We continue to develop and produce in Switzerland to this day.
Our credo: clean formulas and trusted ingredients
The ingredients for our Ultrasun sun protection products are selected with great care and limited to the essentials in order to support the skin's natural balance. For over 30 years, we have been developing according to the CLEAN FORMULAS credo. This means that Ultrasun does not use controversially discussed ingredients.
Our products provide reliable protection against the entire spectrum of sunlight. We only use high-quality, photostable filter technologies and ingredients that do not harm the skin or the environment. Labelled with the Swiss allergy seal of approval aha!, our products are hypoallergenic and free from emulsifiers and perfume - ideal for sensitive skin. The light textures and non-comedogenic formulations prevent sun allergies and the fast-absorbing, non-greasy formulations are also suitable for acne-prone skin as they do not clog the pores.
The products with lamellar structures in particular are a milestone in sun protection: they are extremely gentle on the skin and environmentally friendly, as they require a smaller amount of filters for the same high protection factor.

At Ultrasun, we are continuously committed to create formulas that not only provide optimal protection for the skin, but are also environmentally friendly.
We care about the health of the oceans, which is why our products are reef-friendly. Not only do we fulfill the guidelines of the Hawaii Reef Act by not using octinoxate and oxybenzone, Ultrasun goes one step further and also does not use octocrylene and avobenzone.

Ultrasun is one of the sponsors of Patrick Lange, world class professional triathlete.
Furthermore, we support various sporting events in Switzerland with our products to raise awareness of the importance of sun protection during sporting activities. Among others, we support the IRONMAN Switzerland Thun and IRONMAN70.3 Rapperswil-Jona, the Ochsner Sport Zurich Marathon, Lausanne Marathon, Lyon Triathlon, Pink Ribbon Charity Walk and many more.
Young athletes are also close to our hearts. It is particularly important to protect children's sensitive skin. With the former Olympic champion Nicola Spirig and her Phoenix Kids Triathlon, we are also drawing the attention of very young athletes to the importance of good sun protection. Ultrasun also supports the charity organisation "Advantage Africa" in eastern Uganda, a project supporting people with albinism, who are highly vulnerable to skin cancer. Advantage Africa receives support from Ultrasun UK to enable over 1,000 people with albinism to access life-saving dermatology and healthcare services.
Ultrasun UK has donated essential sun protection since 2016 for distribution at skin clinics for children and adults run by the Source of the Nile Union of Persons with Albinism.
